GTA Delayed!!!

Posted in Uncategorized by Xtreme 360 on August 5th, 2007

Grab your Christmas wishlists and your giant red Sharpie, as Take-Two Interactive has revealed that Grand Theft Auto IV for the Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3 has been delayed until April 2008 at the earliest. The game was originally scheduled to ship in the middle of October, but “due to additional development time required to complete the title” the game has been pushed back.

Strauss Zelnick, Chairman of Take-Two clarified in a statement that “Certain elements of development proved to be more time-intensive than expected, especially given the commitment for a simultaneous release on two very different platforms.”

Adding additional financial stress to Take-Two was updated guidance, with Manhunt 2 for Wii, PlayStation 2 and PSP moved out of fiscal 2007 altogether, with no new release date provided.

XBL Update:Texas Hold Em’

Posted in Uncategorized by Xtreme 360 on July 15th, 2007

Along with a myriad of other updates as well as bug fixes, Xbox Live’s Texas Hold’em now supports Vision Camera, enabling gamers to check out the faces of their opponents and gauge their next moves. Better practice your poker faces, people, as your friends can now see whether you’re smiling knowingly when you get good cards, or groan in despair when you’re dealt with a bad hand.

To add more excitement to the new functionality, Texas Hold’em will have a snapshot mode to better keep those priceless moments during all-ins, wins, losses, folds, etc.

Other Texas Hold’em updates are as follow:

  • Improved usability such as the addition of Custom Match Lists, which allows gamers to view and select which available Custom Match game they would like to join.
  • Improved rich presence in the game, allowing players to not only see what their friends are up to, but also if they just won that big pot!
  • Improved matchmaking and user results.
  • Scoring and screens are more readable than before.
  • Multi-language support including English, French, German, Italian and Spanish.
  • New premium downloadable content allows players to customize the in-game environment, and access new gamerpics and themes

Turkish magazine reveals new GTA 4 info

Posted in Uncategorized by Xtreme 360 on June 20th, 2007

A huge lot of gamers will jump at any little info about the much awaited Grand Theft Auto 4. Good news for you guys, we’ve received word that a Turkish Xbox magazine revealed new features.

Here’s a breakdown:

  • Vibration every footstep when you run
  • No more HUD or user interface, body armor shows
  • Flamethrowers and rocket launchers are still in
  • Explosions are larger than ever, a mission requires creating a chain reaction of car explosions
  • Cars only explode if you blow them up, not by crashing or getting hit
  • Niko can run forever, but not as fast as before
  • More RPG elements (time specific missions)
  • Bullet wounds show, blood appears where you shoot people
  • No more eating, girlfriends, or changing body size but skills still improve
  • Unlockable vehicles and “plenty of goodies” at 100% completion
  • Land size is bigger than 3 cities put together from GTA: San Andreas
  • Better graphics than Saints Row, draw distance is literally as far as you can see
  • New trailer will be out by June 28

Take note: we are yet to see the actual magazine. While still unconfirmed, seems like we have more to look forward to. GTA 4 is shaping up to be a bigger title than most would expect. Take-Two’s deal with Microsoft to deliver extra content exclusive to Xbox 360 might actually hurt Sony.

Red ring of fire

Posted in Uncategorized by Xtreme 360 on June 17th, 2007

Back in February, the Internets was blessed with a very humorous song called “How to kill a brand” by Doc Adams. That song was about how Sony has been (and pretty much kindaish still) is screwing things up with the PlayStation 3. No doubt everyone was thinking that Doc Adams was just some little Xbox or Nintendo fanboy spewing his hatarade on Sony.

Well, Doc Adams is back and this time, the hatarade is targeted towards the Xbox 360. His new song is called “Ring of Fire” which is a parody based on the classic Johnny Cash song of the same name.

Too bad the timing of the song is a little bad since Microsoft is finally doing something to combat the red ring issue. Regardless, it’s a great paradoy and well worth a listen. You can check out the song here

Halo Ds Is Real, More Details Next Week, Says Ign

Posted in Uncategorized by Xtreme 360 on June 17th, 2007

The Halo DS project may have been nothing but vaporware - canceled and left deep within the inner crevices of Cortana’s fiber optic network - however, IGN promises to reveal more details about the demo they played earlier this year.

As GameStooge points out, in a recent IGN podcast (06-15-07), editor Matt Casamassina once again brought up the subject of Halo DS. It’s just a very quick comment, but right around the 38:00 mark of the podcast, Casamassina says that Halo DS is:

a real game… It was a Halo on DS! And it never made it to the light of day, for whatever reason. That reason was most likely Microsoft or Nintendo…

But a lot of people just don’t believe that. We’re gonna lay down some ownage next week or soon afterward by showing you guys that that is a real game. You guys are about to be owned - all you nay-sayers.

Some may have thought that IGN being able to play a build/demo of the game was just a hoax. Now, maybe we can actually confirm that.

Next week isn’t all that far off anyways. It’s already the weekend, so we’ve only a few days left to really find out. “Finish the fight,” or so says Halo 3. Finish the rumor, more like. That’s what we want right now.

*UPDATE* Halo 3 Beta News

Posted in Uncategorized by Xtreme 360 on May 16th, 2007

“We’re happy to finally announce that the issues being faced with the Halo 3 beta and Crackdown will be resolved shortly. The Microsoft team has found a solution and it’s undergoing final testing now.

Assuming the test pass goes according to plan, the fix will come in the form of a Crackdown title update within the next three to six hours.

We understand many of you were eagerly awaiting your chance to jump into the Halo 3 Beta and this technical issue has put a damper on your plans. Thankfully the fix is incoming and we’re sincerely sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. Ultimately we hope this will all soon be a distant memory once you pick up the Spartan Laser, launch yourself from a Mancannon and enjoy online shenanigans with your friends.

As a reminder, people who already have the Halo 3 Beta are unaffected by this issue. We’ll keep you posted as soon as we have more information.”

GTA IV Rumours found!

Posted in Uncategorized by Xtreme 360 on May 2nd, 2007

Hey guys/girls,

Whilst having a browse I found the following RUMOURS you might find very intresting:-

- Niko interacts with pedestrians e.g pushing them if they get in his way. - Niko steals an improved Admiral, proving old cars return. - Niko, in his mid-thirties, is on the run from a “dark past”. - The mafia take a role in the game (although not a main one). - Pop ups are eliminated. - Roosevelt Island appears in-game. - “The game isn’t trying to be photorealistic, but artificial intelligence needs to have a similar quality to the visuals or it’s not going to hold together.” Dan Houser - If you pull a gun out everyone will scatter screaming - One airport appears in the game. Helicopters have been confirmed by Dan as well. - Cross developing for the PS3 and Xbox 360 has apparently been a challenge. - Both systems have their pleasures and pains. - The game will be online (previously only a multiplayer mode was confirmed) - The character customization is not on par with San Andreas. - You can see right into buildings now. - The plot will contain “outrageous betrayals” and “jackknife reversals”. - Custom tracks isn’t confirmed but it is “possible” - Dan wants it to be a huge step up, but still similar to previous games. - There giving us more to do in our [Niko’s] leisure time. - There will be “virtually” no returning characters. “Anyway, most of the characters we liked were dead” DH. - The game is not as influenced by films as previous games have been.

New Halo 2 maps on Xbox LIVE

Posted in Uncategorized by Xtreme 360 on April 3rd, 2007

Hey guys/girls so Halo 3 is nearing us! But to tease you all, there are new maps for Halo 2 . also the Halo 3 Beta is coming our way very shortly!! 800 million hours and counting! That’s how much time we’ve already spent playing Halo 2 on Xbox LIVE; that’s how much we love this game and rightly so. From 17 April the Halo community on LIVE is about to go crazy with the arrival of two new multiplayer maps. Not just any maps, but two of the most popular from Master Chief’s historic debut in “Halo: Combat Evolved” recreated especially for Halo 2.

Improved versions of the “Hang ’Em High” and “Derelict” maps will be available as premium downloadable content to anyone playing Halo 2 using Xbox 360 or original Xbox. For this reason the maps will be obtained using the in-game content downloader. They’re priced $4USD (€3 approx), and you’ll need a credit card to make the purchase. Now that’s not a lot of hassle for a heck of a lot of gameplay.

Every intersection is a potential crash junction and every alleyway is an opportunity to rack up moving violations. Of course, rules are made to be broken, and when gamers enter Paradise City, they’re assigned a Drivers License that quickly begins to amass a record of player’s most aggressive, reckless and destructive exploits behind the wheel.
